Bio

Jan Ruskin is the Artistic Associate for LAUNCH PAD, delightfully donning many hats in support of the director, the students, and the creative collaboration that is the heart of the LAUNCH PAD program.

Jan returned "home" to theatre after a 35 year trek through politics, international relations, marketing, and education. Her passion for the creation of new works was reignited at A.C.T. (American Conservatory Theater) in San Francisco while working on the new musical A Walk on the Moon during the summer of 2018. Further inspired by the depth of work created through the LAUNCH PAD program, Jan joined the team in February 2019, first providing adjunct community and education outreach for LAUNCH PAD’s preview production of The Watsons Go To Birmingham – 1963.

Prior to LAUNCH PAD, Jan served as Associate Director for One Good Egg by Elaine Gale and co-produced Borrowed Time by Brad Fiedel. She lives in Santa Barbara with her husband and, in addition to the great joy of stewarding creative expression, she also enjoys writing, gardening, taking long walks on the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.
