Bio:
Sara Sotelo is a Chicana theater/monster/pop culture scholar from Los Angeles County. Her research focuses on the cultural and pop cultural uses of monsters, at the moment, mainly Godzilla. She is currently pursuing her MA in Theater, Dance and Performance Studies here at UCSB. Her theatrical work is based in community and identity. She currently serves as Associate Artistic Director for Teatro Caló (@teatrocaloucsb) and directed their Fall production of El Teatro Campensino's The Actos. Sara is by trade and by love a dramaturg, working on productions such as The Tempest by William Shakespeare, that drive thru monterey by matthew paul olmos, No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre, & Strange Birds by E.M Lewis, most recently. Sara is forever grateful for the LAUNCH PAD community and is overjoyed to be working with them again.
